MAYOR MEETS WITH SINGAPORE DELEGATION TO DISCUSS SHAPE UP SOMERVILLE
SOMERVILLE – Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone (center) and Shape Up Somerville Coordinator Nicole Rioles (far right) met recently with seven senior officials from the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences, the Singapore Ministry of Health, and the Health Promotion Board of Singapore to discuss policies and best practices stemming from the success of Shape Up Somerville. The delegation visited Somerville on Wednesday, July 23rd, to meet with Mayor Curtatone and City employees to learn about best practices, as well as initiatives and programs in the area to increase walkability and environmental practices, including the Green Line and Community Path extensions.
