Additional Information: Situated on the former Kemp Nut Factory site, the Edward L. Leathers Community Park is the outcome of an intensive community outreach program. In response to neighborhood desires for an urban refuge, the new park features extensive lawn and nearly sixty shade trees. The park also has a raised embankment along the rail corridor that serves as a viewing platform, picnic location, or small stage for community events. An Urban Self Help Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation Services helped finance this new addition to the City's park system.
