Trum Field House

Location: On Broadway at Trum Field between Cedar Street and Charles Ryan Road
Date Completed: 2008
Amenities: The new Field House replaces an old unsafe building with a new larger facility including complete ADA access, new team changing rooms, restrooms, and an open pavilion and viewing space under a dramatic arched roof.

Additional Information: Since 1903, Trum Field has served as one of the major recreation centers in Somerville. The Trum ball fields are one of only four athletic fields in Somerville, but this site provides for far more then just one quarter of the City's ball field programming.  While the ball fields do serve approximately 60 baseball and little league teams, including the Somerville High School Junior Varsity and Varsity Baseball teams,  Trum Field is also the site for community events like the Fourth of July Fireworks, the Recreation Commission's field days, numerous sports clinics and camps, city fund raisers, and a variety of musical concerts. An Urban Self Help Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation Services helped finance this renovation.
