Applications Due March 1 for 2017 Urban Agriculture Ambassador Program

The City of Somerville’s Urban Agriculture Ambassador Program (UAAP) is now accepting applications for the 2017 class. The UAAP, which is taught by Somerville-based Green City Growers, offers free training around urban growing techniques to 20 residents each year in exchange for 30 hours of volunteer service in garden projects throughout the city.

Applicants must be Somerville residents who are at least 16 years old and are required to attend four intensive Saturday workshops from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (March 25, April 1, April 8, and April 15). The program is designed for beginning to intermediate gardeners.

Applications, as well as more information about the program, are available at www.somervillema.gov/urbanag or by emailing urbanagambassadors@gmail.com.
