Kick Off Somerville’s Climate Forward Update at the Armory, October 11

Please join Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and the City of Somerville Office of Sustainability and Environment at a special event to kick off the City’s climate action plan update on Wednesday, October 11.

Launched in 2018, Somerville's climate action plan, Climate Forward, established 13 top strategies to reduce Somerville’s contribution to climate change and to create a more climate-resilient community. Climate Forward was designed to be updated every five years to meet changing needs and seize new strategies to reach our goals. Now it’s time to renew Climate Forward, drawing on more recent climate data and community feedback.

Join us at this free event to learn about the Climate Forward update process, speak with City staff and volunteers about key topic areas in the plan, share your ideas, and celebrate the progress we've made as a community already. Whether you're an environmental enthusiast or just curious about ways to reduce your carbon footprint, this event is for you!

Join us in the Performance Hall at the Arts at the Armory (191 Highland Ave.) at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

Advance registration is requested but not required. To register to attend and learn more about the Climate Forward update, go to somervillema.gov/climateforward2023.
