Frequently Asked Questions (Updated 9-29-2008)

The East Somerville Community School is Somerville's largest elementary school. On Sunday, December 9, 2007 a 3-alarm blaze caused serious structural and mechanical damage to the southeast quadrant of the building, and significant fire-related damage to a large portion of the building.

The City and School Administration, in conjunction with structural engineers, architects, and the City's insurer continue efforts to rebuild the East Somerville Community School.

Please refer back to this website regularly for progress updates. For more information about the East Somerville Community School fire and rebuilding efforts, please call 311.
