Broadway: Temp. Traffic Pattern Changes Near Trum Field 9/10-11/9 for Eversource Line Repairs
Beginning in September 2018, Eversource Energy will be undertaking electric transmission line repairs on Broadway, near Trum Field and Charles E. Ryan Road in Somerville. These repairs are necessary to ensure the reliability of the local transmission system. The project work will commence Monday, September 10th, 2018 and continue through project completion, estimated to be November 9th, 2018.
A temporary traffic pattern will be in effect for the duration of the project. Vehicles and bikers will still be allowed travel in both directions on Broadway. Signs and cones will be placed along the work zone to notify the public of the temporary traffic pattern. Please take notice that there will be no parking on either side of the work zone in order to allow for the flow of traffic. Also, the crosswalk at Charles E Ryan Rd and Broadway will be closed for the duration of the project. However, the crosswalk at Medford St and Broadway will remain open.
The delineated work zone will be maintained 24 hours per day for the full duration of the repairs, although actual construction activities will be limited to daytime work hours 7 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, unless altered by City of Somerville officials. The majority of the work will take place in a manhole on Broadway, reducing noise levels on the street.
Please note that there will be no disruption to any electric or gas service due to this work.
