About LGBTQ Services

The City of Somerville's LGBTQ Liaison connects, supports, and advocates for Somerville’s community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer residents. The Liaison provides information, referral services, guidance, coordination, and technical assistance to the City and its residents on initiatives intended to serve the LGBTQ community. Additionally, the LGBTQ Liaison works to eliminate prejudice and discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression in the City of Somerville.  Here are some reasons you may wish to contact the City's LGBTQ Liaison:

  • You have a concern or question about LGBTQ rights, safety, or health in Somerville
  • You need LGBTQ resources
  • You want to collaborate on a project or program that would specifically support Somerville's LGBTQ community

  • Cell Phone Drive

The LGBTQ Liaison and the Somerville Commission for Women have an ongoing cell phone drive to benefit The Network/la Red. TNLR is an advocacy group for LGBTQ domestic violence victims. We were able to donate over 100 phones in 2012 and over 175 phones in 2013. Thank you for all your support and please keep them coming! The donation boxes are located at Somerville City Hall at 93 Highland Avenue and City Hall Annex at 50 Evergreen Avenue.
