2014 ‘SUMMERTIME IN SOMERVILLE’ EVENTS LINEUP

Fourth of July Fireworks, Family Fun Day, SomerStreets, SomerMovies,
ArtBeat and more are coming back to the streets of Somerville beginning
in June!

SOMERVILLE - Summertime in Somerville is kicking back into high gear for
summer 2014, with the return of popular programming like SomerStreets,
Fourth of July Fireworks, Family Fun Day, Joe's Jazz and Blues Festival,
the weekly SomerMovie Fest, and ArtsUnion programming in Union Square
all summer long.

The summer lineup also includes:

  • Saturday, June 14, noon - 6 p.m.: Squeezebox Slam in Davis Sq.
  • Friday, June 20 - Friday, June 27: Dancing in the Streets Series (see www.somervilleartscouncil.org)
  • Friday, June 20 & Thursday, June 26, 6 p.m.: PuppetPalooza (see www.somervilleartscouncil.org)
  • Saturday, June 21, noon - 6 p.m.: Joe's Jazz and Blues Fest (Powderhouse Park kickoff; series all week long. (see www.somervilleartscouncil.org)
  • Saturday, June 28, noon - 5 p.m.: Family Fun Day at Trum Field (rain date: June 29)
  • Thursday, July 3, 6 p.m.: Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration at Trum Field (rain date: July 10)
  • Friday & Saturday, July 18 & 19 : ArtBeat in Davis Sq.(rain dates: July 19 & 20)
  • Sunday, July 27, noon - 4 p.m.: Seize the Summer @ SomerStreets on Highland Ave.
  • Wednesday, August 6, 11 a.m.: Mayor's Senior Picnic at Powderhouse Park
  • Saturday, August 9, 6-10 p.m.: Ignite! A Fire and Street Food Festival in Union Sq.
  • Sunday, September 7, noon - 4 p.m.: Strike up the Bands @SomerStreets on Holland St.
  • Saturday, September 27, 3 - 7 p.m.: What the Fluff?!? Fest in Union Sq.


The Mayor's SomerMovie Fest and Somerville Sunsetters shows run
throughout the months of July and August, and full schedules can be
found on the City's website, www.somervillema.gov. Additionally, the Somerville Arts Council and ArtsUnion-sponsored summer events lineup can be found at www.somervilleartscouncil.org.
