Paving, Detours on E. Broadway 10/27

On Mon., Oct. 27 between the hours of 7 a.m. and approximately 7 p.m., a City contractor will conduct paving work on East Broadway between Illinois Ave. and McGrath Highway. The work will be conducted in two phases: first, paving the outside lanes closest to the sidewalks, followed by the inside lanes closest to the median.

While the outside lanes are being paved, no vehicle traffic will be able to access Broadway from secondary roadways, and there will be no access to secondary roads from Broadway. During these periods, secondary roads including Pennsylvania Ave., Minnesota Ave., Illinois Ave., Rush St., and Autumn St. will temporarily be converted to allow two-way traffic to accommodate residents.

Please note that work may be completed prior to 7 p.m. on Monday.

Flashing message boards and signage will be installed throughout work zones during this period, and Somerville Police details will be stationed in the area to assist with detours and traffic information.
