SOMERVILLE RECREATION DEPARTMENT LAUNCHES NEW, INTERACTIVE WEBSITE, CREDIT CARD PAYMENT OPTION

www.somervillerec.com accepts credit card payments, allows residents to sign up for classes, camps electronically.

SOMERVILLE - Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone and the Somerville
Recreation Department announce the launch of a new, interactive website, www.somervillerec.com, which will allow
community members to search, view, and sign up for all Recreation programs,
classes and camps.  Additionally, the new
site accepts all major credit cards as a form of payment, which had not
previously been an option in the Department.
The site offers easy search features, calendars and announcements, in
line with the City's mission of providing transparent government processes and
accurate, courteous, and easy customer service.

"We are committed to continually expanding recreation
programming and facilities in the City, by renovating or building new parks and
open spaces and by creating new, innovative activities for residents of all
ages.  To that end, we want to continue
to expand technological and performance-driven systems to ensure residents are
afforded the opportunity to access these services on a real-time basis, and
with ease," Mayor Curtatone said.
"Through SomervilleRec.com, we are now able to
offer fully customized online services for residents, and I hope this will
continue to encourage youth and adults alike to take advantage of the great
programs we have to offer, year-round."

www.SomervilleRec.com
users can also customize the site to meet their needs, including tailoring
e-mail alerts regarding programming changes, enrollment deadlines, etc. to
their interests.

The Somerville Recreation Department has already announced
programs for the spring and summer seasons, with more to follow.  Residents are encouraged to visit www.SomervilleRec.com for updates, and
to enroll in classes.
