Monday, June 23 8:30 PM (Rain Date: Tues, June 24th)
Andary Dance, under the artistic direction of Nathan Andary, explores
the spatial connections to movement in/through/with the body and its
environment.
Urban living evokesa sense of time and space in the physical body pressurizing personal
interactions and quantifying the currency of “personal space”.
Andary will be presenting The Weight of Square an exploration of
spatial constructs redefined by social crowding due to imposing
architectural boundaries. A white cube and orange traffic cones place
and re-place 7 dancers to feel a sense of self in relation to the crowd
and crowding. Engulfed by Jane Wang’s evocative soundscape, the action and
dancers illuminate the weight of surrounding constructed boundaries.
