Part-Time COVID-19 Recovery Needs Assessment Workers

Duties:

The City of Somerville is looking for six people to work with the City’s outreach and consultative initiatives around COVID-19 recovery efforts. These individuals would support community outreach efforts in particular to traditionally under considered and marginalized populations including Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Kreyol, Nepali, and Mandarin-speaking members of the community. The position requires an average of 16 hours of work a week for the next 13 weeks. The initiatives include:

  1. Actively surveying hard-to-reach community members and small businesses on the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) spending needs, preferences, and ideas; sharing information on related ARPA engagement opportunities and resources
  2. Actively surveying hard-to-reach community members and small businesses on SomerViva Office of Immigrant Affairs (SOIA) service needs, preferences, and ideas; sharing information on related SOIA resources
  3. Actively contacting hard-to-reach community members to assist with signup for City emergency alerts (which include COVID, vaccine, and testing alerts as well as recovery resources) and connecting to other related information resources.
Requirements:

Methods of outreach will include but are not limited to event tabling, community walk-abouts/roaming, office hours, drop-ins at partner organizations/businesses, flyering, phone-based outreach, leading focus groups, and door-knocking.
