The City of Somerville seeks a Temporary Junior Custodian to perform custodial duties under the supervisor of buildings and Grounds, supervisor of school facilities and energy conservation management and under the direct supervision of an employee of higher grade. The custodian will perform custodial duties such as clean all reachable walls and HVAC diffusers and ceiling fans and all reachable window glass inside and outside schools, doors, etc. Complete cleaning of all walls and fixtures; clean all stairwells; shampoo all carpets; sweep, wash and strip, wax and buff all floors; dust change light bulbs; police grounds, sweep walks; cut lawns; remove snow and ice; care for custodial equipment; empty waste baskets; remove trash; order custodial supplies; make minor repairs to buildings, equipment, heating, lighting, air conditioning, ventilation and plumbing systems. Perform other similar duties as assigned.
- Must have the physical ability to do the work.
- Must Possess a valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License
