The Somerville Arts Council is pleased to announce the availability of its 2019 Local Cultural Council (LCC) grant program. Artists, community groups, and schools may apply for funding to the Council for projects and fellowships for 2019. The deadline for submissions is October 15, 2018.

Joelle Renstrom, Kate Becker, Daniel Hudon, Heather Hughes, and Ellen Goldstein will be reading space poetry, lyrical essays, world-building advice, and more, and we'll have space-related art and visuals produced by VJ James Miller.

SomerStreets is the City of Somerville’s take on the internationally-renowned Open Streets concept, closing busy city streets to vehicles, and opening them up for cycling, walking, dancing, running, and other modes of activity.

Cold and flu season is approaching, which means it’s time for the annual flu vaccine clinics offered by the City of Somerville Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The clinics offer free flu vaccines for Somerville residents ages four and older (children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
