Somerville’s Consolidated Rental Waitlist Re-Opens for Applications on Feb. 2

To ease the housing search for renters, the City is re-opening their Consolidated Rental Waitlist. Beginning Monday, February 2, through March 2, individuals and families can apply for multiple upcoming affordable rental opportunities through the City’s Inclusionary Housing Program with a single application. 

Somerville’s Consolidated Rental Waitlist first launched in April 2025 as a tool to simplify the application process for income-restricted rental units. Those who applied during the first application period do not need to re-apply.  

How to Apply 

From February 2 to March 2, applicants can apply online at somervillewaitlist.org or in-person at the City Hall Annex (50 Evergreen Ave.) during regular business hours.

Staff from Somerville's Inclusionary Housing Program will be available to assist with applications in-person and online during the application period. Opportunities include: 

After March 2, applications will be reviewed, and new applicants will be entered into a lottery, then added to the existing waitlist. Somerville residents who have preference and those with emergency housing needs may also receive priority.
