About the CAC
The Climate Action Commission (CAC) is a resident-led body that seeks to address climate change and improve the environment, with the goal of creating a healthier, safer, and more equitable and resilient Somerville community. The CAC is composed of no less than five and up to thirteen members, appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council.
The CAC was created in spring 2025 as an evolution of the long-standing Commission on Energy Use and Climate Change (CEUCC). Currently, members of the CEUCC are serving as interim members of the CAC until membership for the Climate Action Commission is established.
