Community Forums to be Held to Discuss Somerville’s Plans for U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Programs

The Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development will hold two community forums to discuss the City’s 2018-2022 HUD Consolidated Five-Year Plan and 2018-2019 One-Year Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program, and the HOME program.

City staff will present an overview of how these programs can be used to support activities related to economic development, parks and infrastructure, public services, and affordable housing programs. There will also be an opportunity for community input on goals and priorities for the Five-Year Plan along with information on submitting Public Service and ESG Request For Proposal applications.

The community forums will take place:

  • Thursday, March 1, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Albert F. Argenziano School, 290 Washington Street
  • Thursday, March 8, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the East Somerville Community School, 50 Cross Street
