Council to Hold Public Hearing Jan. 30 for Community Input on Next City Budget
The City Council invites community members to share budget priorities for Fiscal Year 2026 at virtual meeting; written comment also accepted
The Somerville City Council invites community members to share their priorities for the Fiscal Year 2026 budget at an upcoming virtual Public Hearing on Thursday, January 30, at 6 p.m. All interested community members are invited to attend and speak at this online Public Hearing hosted by the Somerville City Council’s Finance Committee. Written comment may also be submitted.
The City’s 2026 fiscal year (FY26) runs from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Input provided at this hearing will help inform Council advance priorities that will be shared with the Administration to consider as they develop the FY26 City budget. Persons unable to attend the hearing may provide comments by email to the City Council at publiccomments@somervillema.gov or by dropping them off at the City Clerk’s Office at 93 Highland Ave. Comments received by 12 p.m. the day of the Hearing will be conveyed to the Committee for inclusion with the hearing testimony. Comments submitted after this deadline will be accepted by the City Council on an ongoing basis, but it cannot be guaranteed that comments received after the deadline will be read prior to the hearing.
