Help Shape the Future of Davis Square: Feedback Sought for New Neighborhood Plan

Survey open through Sunday, September 27; Attend the 9/16 open house or 9/17 virtual meeting

Do you have opinions on Davis Square? Of course you do. Now it’s your chance to share them by taking the new Davis Square Neighborhood Plan Survey before it closes on Sunday, September 27, or by joining upcoming events. All Somerville community members and visitors are encouraged to take the survey, and all are invited to attend an upcoming open house or virtual meeting as well.

“Davis Square is one of the absolute treasures of our city. Everyone experiences it differently, so we want its future to reflect that full range of perspectives,” said Mayor Jake Wilson. “This survey is an easy and meaningful way to tell us what you value about this square that means so much to our community and the region, and to share what you want the City to focus on in the years ahead.”

The City is developing a neighborhood plan for Davis Square to guide future decisions around growth, public space, transportation, and accessibility, as well as infrastructure, housing, economic vitality, climate resilience, and more. Community feedback – including from the survey – will help identify shared priorities, needs, and concerns and ensure the plan reflects the experiences of the people who live, work, own a business or property, commute through, and spend time in the square.

“The neighborhood plan will capture our near-, medium-, and long-term vision for Davis Square,” said Ward Six City Councilor and City Council President Lance Davis. “It’s an important document that will guide planning and investment as we move forward, and we need your input to make sure we get it right.”
