Join the Somerville Condominium Review Board

The City of Somerville is seeking two new members to join the Somerville Condominium Review Board (CRB). Vacancies are available for two full members.  

What is the Condominium Review Board? 

The CRB regulates the conversion of rental properties into condominiums to ensure compliance with Somerville’s Condominium Conversion Ordinance. The CRB works to ensure that condominium conversions are conducted lawfully and with consideration for existing residents. 

Who Can Join? 

Somerville tenants are eligible for the full-member vacancies. 

What is the Time Commitment? 

The CRB typically meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m. In addition to monthly meetings, members are expected to review meeting materials ahead of time, for an average time commitment of 5 to 7 hours per month. CRB members serve three-year terms. 

What is the Appointment Process? 

All members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Somerville City Council. Appointments include a monthly $318 stipend for full members.
