Somerville’s 100 Homes Program Accepting Applications for Affordable Housing Waitlist

Somerville’s 100 Homes program is now accepting applications to be added to its affordable housing waitlist. Eligible applicants include people facing displacement, Section 8 voucher holders, and households earning between 80% and 100% of the area median income.

Priorities will be granted to households facing displacement, including those who are in the process of a no-fault eviction, have received a notice of lease nonrenewal, or must utilize a mobile housing voucher in Somerville or risk losing it, as well as homeless applicants with funding from a Continuum of Care organization.

Apartments are available to households on a rolling basis across various income brackets. Households will be contacted in the order in which applications are received.

The 100 Homes initiative, launched in 2014, is a joint venture between the City of Somerville and the Somerville Community Corporation (SCC) in conjunction with the Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation. The program aims to create and preserve permanently affordable rental housing by acquiring multi-family properties across the city.

Applications and eligibility information are available online at somervillecdc.org/100-Homes-Application. Applications can also be picked up at the SCC office, 337 Somerville Avenue, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Questions may be directed to Alex Bob, SCC’s 100 Homes project manager, at abob@somervillecdc.org or (617) 410-9910.
