Somerville Annual Senior Picnic September 10
Reserve your ticket by September 4
Savor the final days of summer during a festive afternoon of food, music, and community. Somerville seniors are invited to the City’s annual Senior Picnic on Thursday, September 10, at Trum Field (541 Broadway) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Meet or catch up with neighbors, chat with Mayor Jake Wilson and City Councilors, and enjoy lunch and music from a live band and DJ. City staff from Health and Human Services, Recreation, Somerville Police, Mobility, and more will be onsite sharing resources.
“The senior picnic is a cherished tradition in Somerville, giving seniors an opportunity to enjoy a meal with their neighbors and access to important city resources,” said Mayor Jake Wilson. “Thank you to the Council on Aging and City staff for continuing to support and celebrate our older residents through community connection.”
Admission to the picnic is free, but tickets are required. To reserve a spot, contact the Council on Aging at 617-625-6600 ext. 2319 by Friday, September 4. City-supported transportation to the picnic is limited and must be requested through the Council on Aging by September 1.
"Nothing beats our senior picnic. I love coming together to celebrate community and make new memories,” said Councilor-At-Large Kristen Strezo. “If you or a loved one hasn’t experienced the picnic yet, I hope you’ll come this year. This is a great way to learn about the Council on Aging and City services, and is a way to make new friends.”
