Somerville Commission for Persons with Disabilities Invites Residents to Red Sox Disability Pride Game Night

Trip including transportation, in-seat meal, and game ticket open to residents with disabilities

This May, Somerville residents with disabilities are invited to take their seat at one of Boston's most beloved traditions. The Somerville Commission for Persons with Disabilities (SCPD) is pleased to announce its annual outing to Disability Pride Game Night at Fenway Park. On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Somerville residents who identify as having a disability are invited to attend a Boston Red Sox game against the Atlanta Braves: first pitch at 7:10 p.m. Tickets, transportation, a seat-delivered meal, and a Disability Pride shirt are all provided at no cost. Tickets are limited. More information is below.

The Game Night outing kicks off SCPD’s season-long celebration of Disability Pride Month, which is observed in July. Please watch the City Calendar and News section at somervillema.gov for more events as they are announced including the annual Disability Pride Flag Raising, outreach events, and gatherings that may include a book reading, movie screening, and more.

Who Can Attend

  • Somerville residents who identify as having a disability may request one free ticket for themselves and one free ticket for a guest.
  • Families are welcome to attend.

What Is Included

  • Free charter bus transportation from City Hall Plaza, 93 Highland Ave (optional)
  • Free MBTA train/bus pass (optional)
  • Meal delivered to your seat
  • Free Disability Pride shirt (adult sizes only)

Important Ticket Information

  • Tickets are limited.
  • Residents who attended in the past 2 years will be waitlisted until May 18.
  • Remaining tickets will be released starting May 19.

Event Schedule

  • 5:00 p.m. – Bus arrives at City Hall Plaza, 93 Highland Ave
  • 5:30 p.m. – Bus departs from City Hall Plaza
  • 6:30 p.m. – Meals delivered to seats
  • 7:00 p.m. – Disability Pride shirts distributed
  • 7:10 p.m. – First pitch: Red Sox vs. Atlanta Braves
  • 9:00 p.m. – First bus departs Fenway Park
  • 10:00 p.m. – Last bus departs Fenway Park

Attendees may take the charter bus one way and return via the MBTA.

Accessibility Information

  • Charter Bus: The bus accommodates up to 2 wheelchairs. A lift is available for individuals with mobility challenges who do not require a wheelchair space. Steps are required for those not using a mobility device.
  • Seating: Wheelchair seating, aisle seats (for those who can manage 2–3 steps), and storage for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers are available.
  • Digital Tickets: Tickets must be accessed on a smartphone using the MLB Ballpark app. At least one member of your group must have a smartphone. Printed tickets are not accepted, and re-entry is not permitted after leaving the park. Staff will be available at Gate B (near Van Ness Street and Ipswich Street) to assist with ticket access.
