Somerville Housing Authority Board of Commissioners Seeks Two Members

Open Positions: Two
Term: Five years

The Somerville Housing Authority (SHA) Board of Commissioners seeks two new members, and all Somerville residents are invited to apply. These positions do not have to be filled by SHA residents, but SHA residents are encouraged to apply. Boards and commissions offer an opportunity for residents with a range of experience, skills, expertise, and perspectives to share their talents and insights with their community.

The SHA Board of Commissioners sets and revises policies for the housing authority, establishes annual budgets, ensures the housing authority is in compliance with state and federal laws, adopts and revises bylaws, and supports SHA operations.

The Board of Commissioners meets once a month and occasionally holds special meetings. Annual stipends for Commissioners range from $8,000 to $10,000 and are paid quarterly. Applications will be reviewed by the Mayor’s Appointments Advisory Committee. New members must be approved by the City Council.

Applications are due Friday, June 17. Interested candidates should submit a statement of interest and resume to Brianna Santangelo at BriannaS@sha-web.org or mail them to Brianna Santangelo, 30 Memorial Road, Somerville, MA 02145. Please contact her with any questions at the previously listed email or 617-625-1152 ext. 333.
