Somerville Police Department, Middlesex Sheriff’s Office Holding Gun Buyback Day, 10/16

The Somerville Police Department and Middlesex Sheriff's Office are holding a gun buyback day on Saturday, October 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Department of Public Works, 1 Franey Road. Residents could receive up to $200 in gift cards for each firearm turned in. All firearms collected will be safely disposed of.

Anyone dropping off a gun should have it unloaded; with the safety engaged; in a bag, box, or case. Firearms should be left in the trunk of your vehicle upon arrival.

Unwanted BB guns and ammunition can also be turned in for safe disposal but do not qualify for a gift card.
