Somerville Public Library’s East Branch Will Open as Warming Center on Monday, Jan. 19
To provide relief from cold temperatures, the East Branch of the Somerville Public Library (115 Broadway) will be open as a warming center from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Monday, January 19. All other library branches and City buildings are closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Winter Overnight Warming Center will be open normal hours nightly (5 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.).
Additional tips to help stay safe and warm include:
- Dress in layers and cover as much exposed skin as possible when outdoors.
- Minimize time outside, including for pets.
- Check in on family and neighbors.
- Follow all safety precautions if using space heaters. Do not use a stove or oven as a heat source.
