What is ArtFarm?
ArtFarm is an experiment. ArtFarm is Somerville’s proposal for our next great public space: a self-sustaining art and urban agriculture laboratory designed to foster community engagement and creativity. We are working to turn a former waste transfer station into a thriving open space.
The goal of Somerville’s Brownfields Assessment Program is to help property owners minimize the uncertainties of contamination often associated with brownfields. Funds are intended to kick-start a redevelopment process that ultimately results in new development with the goals of stabilizing neighborhoods, adding jobs and homes, and increasing the City's tax base.
The Innovation Fund or I-Fund is a $1 million loan fund for Somerville businesses with innovative products or business models. Historically, this fund has been used to help extraordinary businesses move to–or stay in–Somerville.
