Junior Clerk

Department:
Inspectional Services Department (ISD)
Duties:

Performs a variety of clerical duties for the ISD Building and Health Divisions, according to departmental procedures.  Handles financial transactions as well as providing email, front desk and telephone customer service on a regular basis.  Assists customers in all matters relating to the department, including public record requests, complaints, permitting and the ticket processing systems.  Files and inputs data entry into software as required.   Performs a variety of other clerical duties as assigned by the ISD Director and/or Deputy Director, and performs other related work as required. 

Requirements:

Must have experience processing financial transactions.

Must possess excellent computer skills, including email (Outlook) and Microsoft Excel and Word, and willingness to be trained in MUNIS, Citizenserve or related softwares.

Superior customer service skills and the ability to work pleasantly and efficiently with the general public (in-person, phone, and email).

Basic working knowledge of the functions of the department.

Ability to refer customer inquiries to appropriate personnel for response.

Attention to detail and accuracy with figures essential.

Performs well under stress and meets deadlines on time.
