City of Somerville Municipal Scholarship Applications

The City of Somerville Municipal Scholarship is a need and merit-based award given to students who embody the hard-working and community engaged spirit of the city. The scholarship recognizes good academic standing, diversity, and involvement in purposes and pursuits beyond typical student life. 

The Municipal Scholarship Committee offers 7 or more scholarships to the Somerville community. All of these scholarships are open to Somerville residents who are graduating seniors in the Class of 2026.  

Scholarship can be applied to college tuition and professional programs/certifications, including union fees. 

Eligibility: Residence in the City of Somerville 
Name of Sponsoring Organization: City of Somerville     
Open Date: March 1, 2026 
Close Date: Friday, March 27 at midnight 
Acknowledgement Date: Early May 
Number Available: 7 or more    
Award Amount (Per Recipient): $2,000

Standard Restrictions:     
High school student must be a graduating member of the Class of 2026 and live in Somerville, MA.
