Celebrate Nutrition Month (Council on Aging)

Celebrate Nutrition Month with Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services!

Join us for a community lunch and play a round of “Food as Medicine” -themed Jeopardy for a chance to win prizes. SCES nutrition staff will share useful information about using food to manage chronic disease and illness.

Virtual General Exercise (Council on Aging)

Enjoy SCOA’s signature General Exercise class in the comfort of your home! Simply click a zoom link to join the live class online. This is a chair-based workout with the option to use light handheld weights and do supported standing strength and balance activities. Enjoy easy-to-follow cardio, strength training, mobility, and flexibility patterns.

Virtual Small Business Office Hours

Virtually join the Small Business Office Hours,  held Thursdays from 4:00-5:00PM. Join in to talk to city staff from Economic Development, Licensing, and ISD to discuss any questions regarding permits, licenses, or your business. Attendees will be held in a waiting room and admitted to speak with staff in order of which they joined the call.

Function Junction (Council on Aging)

Focus on functional fitness with exercises that help with activities of daily living and maintaining independence!

In this class, we will work on improving coordination, enhancing muscular elasticity, and improving balance. We’ll work on both strengthening and stretching muscles to improve posture and mobility.

Mobility Informational Session (Council on Aging)

The City of Somerville’s Mobility Division will be at the
Holland Street Center to hear any mobility-related concerns
and provide updates on transportation planning projects.
