Final Water Bills
When the ownership of a residential or commercial property is scheduled to change, the City of Somerville Water and Sewer Department generates what is known as a Final Bill for the property. The Water Department will conduct a final water meter reading for the property, typically one day prior to the scheduled closing date. Based on this meter reading, the Final Bill is generated.
In order to receive a Final Bill, the Water & Sewer Department requires the Final Water Bill Request Form application to be filed at least three (3) business days before the closing date. The fee for the Final Bill is $25.00. The Final Bill form can be obtained in the Water Department main office or via the link below.
Once complete, the applicant can pick up the Final Bill from the Somerville Water Department office, at 17 Franey Road. Once the final bill is paid in full, the Water Department will change the billing information to reflect the new owner’s information.
