Substance Misuse Prevention

• The Substance Misuse Prevention Coordinator works in collaboration with the Somerville Public School system to provide substance misuse assessment, consultation, and education on an ongoing basis for youth in the middle and high schools.
• The Substance Misuse Prevention Coordinator coordinates and facilitates any psychosocial and psychoeducation strategies to youth in Somerville in an effort to decrease substance misuse and associated factors. This includes 1:1 ongoing meeting with youth, care coordination with collaterals, and information/referral to treatment as clinically appropriate. 
• In collaboration with the Prevention Services Manager, the Substance Misuse Prevention Coordinator develops, designs, and coordinates Somerville Prevention’s social media content in an effort to provide accurate, relatable, and engaging content regarding substance misuse prevention.
