Spa Day at the Center (Council on Aging)

The Somerville High School Cosmetology Students will be joining us.  Their services include:

Kennedy School Playground Renovation Project Round Table Discussion – Inclusivity

The Public Space and Urban Forestry department is hosting a round table discussion to review and discuss the type of play equipment proposed at the site and determine which features will accomplish the goals of making this space inclusive.

Somerville Winter Farmers Market

The Center for the Arts at the Armory is proud to offer a weekly winter market with 71+ local food vendors with the best locally grown and regionally produced foods, including fresh produce, cheese, eggs, meats, fish, breads, tamales, pastries, chocolate, skincare products, and more.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Event

We're celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King's life and legacy together at the City's annual MLK Day event on January 17

General Exercise at Holland Street (Council on Aging)

Add some movement to your day! General Exercise is a chair-based fitness class with supported standing strength training and balance. We use a play ball, handheld weights and resistance band to work on functional and therapeutic movement patterns. Enjoy moving to music while doing easy-to-follow cardio, mobility, strengthening and stretching exercises.

Nutrition at Holland Street (Council on Aging)

This time of year, is a good time to think of a fresh start, not resolutions. Doing something better or something that can improve your life in any way gives you a positive attitude of wellbeing. We will start our year off with topics that will help you decide if you need to make changes or if you just need to continue on your healthy journey as you always have.

Zumba Gold (Council on Aging)

Zumba Gold® uses Latin and international rhythms and is a lowerintensity version of Zumba® for active older adults. It uses easy-tofollow moves that focus on balance, range of motion, and coordination. The class is designed to develop cardiovascular endurance, muscular conditioning and flexibility while helping relieve arthritic pain. Join the party™ and let the music move you!

Crochet With Tufts (Council on Aging)

Learn how to crochet with a collaboration between the Council on Aging and Tufts Hooked Club! Tufts Hooked Club is a organization comprised of Tufts students who want to spread awareness of the mental health benefits of fiber arts like crochet.
