Participate in a Focus Group to Shape the Future of Somerville’s Armory Building

The City of Somerville seeks 20 community members to participate in a 75-minute online focus group about the historic Armory building at 191 Highland Ave. This focus group is one part of the ongoing Armory Master Plan process, which will guide the Armory’s future as a vibrant arts center for years to come.

Mayor’s Statement on Earthquakes in Turkey and Syria

As we are watching the heartbreaking scenes of destruction and devastation unfold in Turkey, Syria, and other affected areas, we hope for an expansive and successful search and rescue that may reunite family and friends with their loved ones and get more lives to safety. We also call on the U.S. government to send more aid and resources so that the countries’ recovery efforts may begin.

Somerville Launches Racial and Social Justice Community Engagement Ambassadors Program

Six RSJ Community Engagement Ambassadors Will Spearhead Community-Driven Outreach for the Public Safety for All Initiative

Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and the Department of Racial and Social Justice (RSJ) are today announcing the launch of the RSJ Community Engagement Ambassadors program. The newly onboarded Community Ambassadors will actively work with the City to expand engagement with the Public Safety for All Initiative and build new avenues for participation and empowering community voices.

The ADA Community Survey Will Help Inform Updates to Somerville’s ADA Transition Plan

The City of Somerville Urban Forestry Committee (UFC) is now accepting applications for one new member with expertise in urban forestry. Urban forestry expertise may include experience or coursework in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture, or any other relevant field.
