Femino to Retire this Fall

On behalf of the City of Somerville, Mayor Katjana Ballantyne is extending her deepest gratitude to interim Police Chief Charles Femino for his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to the Somerville Police Department. 

Chief Femino, who stepped into the role of Acting Police Chief during the height of the pandemic in December 2020, has guided the department through one of the most challenging periods in recent history, leaving a lasting impact on both the department and the community.

To celebrate the back-to-school season, the Somerville Arts Council (SAC) and Nibble Kitchen are launching a new cooking class series, "Favorite Childhood Meals from Around the World!"

Somerville Seeking Snow Plowing Contractors

October 15, 2024 - June 30, 2026

Somerville’s DPW, through the Procurement Department, is seeking contractors to provide snow plowing services for the City from October 15, 2024 - June 30, 2026.

Interested vendors may obtain a Request for Application (RFA) packet from the Procurement Department web page, or by emailing a request to procurement@somervillema.gov

Vendors must return their completed RFA packet by Thursday, September 19th, 2024, at 2:00 pm for early contract offers.
