On August 14, 2019, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a final rule related to public charge in the Federal Register. The rule will not take effect until October 15, 2019. Additionally, many organizations have filed lawsuits challenging the legality of the rule. Thus, even after publication, legal challenges could delay implementation.

Join the Somerville Conservation Commission and the Mystic River Watershed Association to pick up trash at Draw Seven Park as part of the annual state-wide COASTSWEEP cleanup. This event will take place on Saturday, October 5 from 10am-12pm (rain date October 6). We will be meeting near the picnic area at the end of the parking lot.
The Somerville Public Library and St. Mark Community Education Program will host a free, 12-part Citizenship Interview Preparation Class on Saturdays this fall in partnership with Project Citizenship. The class is designed to prepare participants for all parts of their citizenship test, from literacy to U.S.
