Ten years ago, our community brought together our best and most ambitious ideas to write SomerVision2030, the City’s comprehensive plan for 2010-2030, and it has helped guide our work since. Throughout 2019 we engaged in a new process to improve upon that plan, take stock of our progress, add many new ideas, consider how priorities have shifted, and extend the scope of our vision to the year 2040. The end result is the new and entirely community driven Somerville Comprehensive Plan linked above.

The SomerVision2030 Goals were written by the sixty Somerville residents serving on the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. They were reviewed with the public during a series of workshops in 2011, as well as through an online survey. They are intended to guide the Comprehensive Plan’s recommended Policies and Actions. The Path Since 2010 is a summary of the progress we made from writing SomerVision2030 to the begining of the SomerVision2040 process.
