2026 City of Somerville State Election Calendar
Please note: early in-person voting takes place on the Lower Level of City Hall (93 Highland St.) in the Elections Department.

| Voter Registration Deadline | Saturday, October 24th, 2026 | By 5:00 PM in person or by mail. Online registration available until midnight. |
| Early Voting Ballot Pre-Processing Begins | Saturday, October 24th, 2026 | Public process. The Election Department may remove State Election mail-in and in-person early voting ballots from envelopes and tabulate them daily, while tallies won't be done until Election Night. |
| Early Voting Ballot Pre-Processing Period | Saturday, October 24th – November 2nd, 2026 | Conducted during Early Voting hours as needed. And 8:30 am – 4:30 pm on Nov. 2nd. This is a public process. |
| Deadline to Apply for Early Voting by Mail or Absentee Ballot by Mail | Tuesday, October 27th, 2026 | Applications must be received by 5:00 PM. Postmark alone is not sufficient. |
