On Sunday,  the 10th anniversary of the September 11th events in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania, Somerville will remember those who lost lives or loved ones with a vigil walk into Davis Square as we do annually.

This year, in cooperation with nationally scheduled events, we will be holding our ceremonies beginning at 12:30 P.M. with a procession from the Cedar Street end of the Community Path into Davis Square, where we will participate in a national moment of silence. We will be engaging Somerville Fire Houses by sounding alarms and bells at 1:00 P.M. for a full minute, joining folks across the nation by stopping and remembering the events of that day.

Mayor Curtatone hopes you can join him on Sunday afternoon to  commemorate the 10th anniversary of September 11th as a community.
