Removal of Public Shade Trees

Pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 87, the City of Somerville will hold a public hearing on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 5:30 pm at the Department of Public Works Water Department Building, 17 Franey Road, Somerville, MA, to consider the removal of the following public shade tree(s):

  • 1060 Broadway – removal of 13 inch diameter Honeylocust for development at the former Powder House Community School.
  • 93 Ossipee Road – removal of 16 inch diameter Honeylocust causing major infrastructure damage to street and driveway.

The trees identified above have been posted for public inspection. Any objections to their removal must be submitted in writing prior to or during the hearing. Letters should be addressed to: Somerville City Arborist, 93 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA. 02143; or email vboukili@somervillema.gov.
