LOCATION
The 2018 Heroes Salute will honor eight Somerville residents who have served our country and contributed to the overall fabric of our community. The 2018 honorees are:
- Alfred Byrne (Killed in Service, WWII) – Hero Square Dedication
- Anthony Guerierro –( Killed in Action, WWII) – Hero Square Dedication
- Anthony Graziano (Purple Heart Recipient, Vietnam) – Hero Square Dedication
- James Parziale (Killed in Action, Korea) – Hero Square Dedication
- Walter Pero (Vietnam Era Veteran, Director Veterans’ Services, Ward 3 Alderman) – Hero Square Dedication
- Robert Waters – (Purple Heart Recipient, Vietnam) – Hero Square Dedication
- Francis Ganat – Korean War Veterans’ Hall of Fame
Finally, the 2018 Salute will honor Retired Navy Captain and Medal of Honor Recipient, Thomas G. Kelley with a “Profile in Courage” Lifetime Achievement Award.
The ceremony is free and open to the public.
