Do you have unused or expired prescription medication in your home? Dispose of them the safe way!
Bring medication you no longer need to:
- Somerville Public Safety Building, 220 Washington St.
- Somerville Fire Department, 6 Newbury Street
Drop-offs are anonymous! For your own privacy, please remove any identifying information from medication bottles before you arrive. If the labels are difficult to remove, try putting the bottle in the freezer for a few minutes and then peel them off when the adhesive is cold and brittle.
Please do not dispose of medications in the trash, sink, or toilet! Runoff from medications is dangerous for people, animals, and the environment. There is always a permanent Med Return Drug Collection Kiosk in the lobby of the Somerville Police Department, 220 Washington Street in Somerville. Disposal is free, anonymous and available 24/7.
