The City of Somerville is taking its celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month virtual this year. Mayor Joe Curtatone will lead a virtual Pride Flag raising ceremony on Sunday, June 7. Visit the City’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/SomervilleCity) at 10:30 a.m. to watch a livestream of the short, socially distanced ceremony. At 11 a.m., hop over to the Somerville Arts Council Facebook page (www.facebook.com/SomervilleArts) for the Big Gay Dance Party Virtual Dance Brunch. DJ Stevie Psyclone will provide music and there will be a performance by local drag artist Amanda Playwith. The Arts Council will also be sharing a brunch recipe you can try out at home. Both events are open to all members of the LGBTQ community and allies.
Somerville Pride celebrations are sponsored by Mayor Joe Curtatone, the City of Somerville, the Somerville Arts Council, and the Health and Human Services Department.
