LOCATION

Please join Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone and Ward 2 Councilor J.T. Scott for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of the Conway Park athletic field on Thursday, December 9, at 1 p.m.

To date, this complex project has achieved several critical milestones: The retaining wall has been repaired, contaminants have been removed (with the help of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency), and the athletic field, which features a plant-based infill, has been installed and surrounded with new trees.

The field will be available for use in the spring, when playground construction is also expected to be completed. Another celebration will be held then to mark the grand opening of the full site. For more information about the project, visit somervillema.gov/conwaypark.

Event attendees should enter the field at the far gate near the back of the rink, since the Somerville Avenue site is still in construction. We look forward to seeing you there!
