Public Hearing regarding the removal of trees.

The Tree Hearing will consider the removal of the following trees: 

1. 2 Harding Street (Boynton Yards) – 15.4-inch diameter white ash due to conflict with planned construction activities. Location will be replanted.

2. 3-5 Hawkins Street – 6.2-inch diameter cherry due to conflict with planned construction activities. Location will be replanted

3. 270 Alewife Brook Parkway (Clarendon Hill, Somerville Housing Authority) – 17-inch diameter pin oak due to conflict with planned construction activities. Location will be replanted.

The trees proposed for removal are in conflict with proposed development plans for these properties. The developers will present justification for the proposed removals. 

In accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 87, any objections to the removal of any of these trees must be submitted in writing to the Tree Warden prior to or at this public hearing. Documents may be sent via email to: trees@somervilleMA.gov, or mailed to: 1 Franey Rd., Somerville, MA. 02145.
