LOCATION

Gilman Square Neighborhood Association would like to invite you all to join us for our annual Gilman Square Arts and Music Festival (formerly known as the Gilman Square Block Party) at Mad Oyster Studios and on Pearl St between Marshall and Bradley. It's been an incredible journey from what started as a fairly typical block party to what has developed into a beautiful celebration of the cultural diversity, history, and future hopes for our community. It has also become an incredible way to bring folks across our city together to build strong, lasting connections that will help us work together to build a future for everyone. The G’22 Arts and Music Festival endeavors to foster those connections while also: - Amplifying the artistic and creative heartbeat of Gilman Square - Highlighting local small businesses - Illuminating our diversity - Giving voice to neighborhood-based causes - Raising awareness of this oft-overlooked linchpin neighborhood Based on vendor data from last year we had between 600-800 attendees. This year, with the addition of 4x the local vendors and artists, we are expecting to see an even larger turnout. We have several local artists, many from the Gilman Square neighborhood, selling their work as well as arts and crafts activities for kids. We have four fantastic musician groups, including Alastair Moock playing at noon, who will be playing music geared towards the kids. We will also have several local organizations (the Y, OSPCD, PTA groups, and others) sharing information and soliciting neighborhood input, as well as several local food, beverage, and produce vendors keeping everyone fed and hydrated. It will be a fun filled day of celebrating Gilman Square and Somerville. Please see flyer and G'22 Facebook Event for more information.
