Founded and directed by Reynaliz Herrera, IDEAS, NOT THEORIES is a theatrical percussion company for unconventional instruments that offers several programs featuring Reynaliz’s original music for bicycles and other instruments.
At CultureHouse Somerville 2023, she will perform her own program/work: “Ideas, Not Theories- Bicycle Beats”, a 12-15min musical performance of a solo percussion piece written for bicycle, which incorporates theatrical elements in the form of physical theater. Composed and performed by Reynaliz Herrera, the performance features different sections of music, each exploring the different sonorities of the musical bike.
Reynaliz will perform several sets of the 15 min performance throughout the evening. IDEAS, NOT THEORIES, has been performing regularly since 2012 in the U.S (Massachusetts, NYC, Maine, Philadelphia, CT, N.H, New Mexico, IN), Mexico, Canada and Barbados at international festivals, museums, and theaters, and has received renowned grants to create and present work. Reynaliz Herrera is the Director/Composer/Lead performer of "Ideas, Not Theories".
