AROUND HEAR SPRING CONCERT Saturday, June 10th 2:30–4 pm Mystic Activity Center Somerville, MA Free. All ages. 

Open to the public Supported by a grant from the Somerville Arts Council, an agency of the Massachusetts Cultural Council. We are excited to welcome everyone to the Mystic Activity Center for an afternoon of music from four centuries, including a work by our guest clarinetist, Eric Thomas. As always, Around Hear concerts are free, and welcoming to people of all ages, backgrounds, and dispositions. 

PROGRAM Opening music by Around Hear choir, strings class, and keyboard ensemble • J.S. Bach - Prelude & Fugue No. 13 in F-sharp major BWV 882 (1742) • Antonín Dvořák - Sonata for Violin and Piano in F Major, Op. 57 (1880) • Béla Bartók - Contrasts for Clarinet, Violin and Piano (1938) • Eric Thomas - “Threnody for Ann Arcenaux” (2023) • Cécile McLorin Salvant (arr. Dan Sedgwick) - “Melusine” (2022) 

PERFORMERS Eric Thomas (clarinet), Marji Gere (violin), Dan Sedgwick (piano), Mystic All-Ages Community Choir, Violin/Viola Class, and Keyboard Ensemble As usual, Around Hear concerts are free and open to people of all ages, backgrounds, and dispositions. Come listen however you’d like: eyes closed, or feet moving; cup of coffee or tea in hand; writing a postcard to a loved one or sketching with crayons on the floor; for a moment or the whole show. Whatever mode of listening works for you, you are welcome!
