Update: This event has been moved inside of Somerville High School (81 Highland Ave.) due to inclement weather in the forecast.

Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and the City of Somerville invite community members to attend the city’s first Civic Day event on Saturday, September 30, from noon to 4 p.m. inside Somerville High School (81 Highland Ave.)

Civic Day aims to provide community members of all ages with fun, interactive opportunities to learn about City government, programs, services, and ways to get involved. Take a tour of City Hall including fun facts. Cast your vote in the City’s first-ever Participatory Budgeting process. Get a flu shot onsite. Meet the Mayor and Councilors. Check out a vintage voting machine. Talk to our Rat Czar and other staff.  Bring the family for Somerville Public Work’s Let’s Get Truckin’ touch-a-truck program, as well as face painting, games, trivia, music, and other activities. Enjoy free food from Tipping Cow Ice Cream and Pennypacker’s while supplies last. 

The City Hall concourse will be closed to vehicular traffic. Temporary handicap parking will be available along Highland Avenue near the concourse. In the event of inclement weather, all outdoor activities will be moved inside to Somerville High School (81 Highland Ave.). 

Multilingual staff from the SomerViva: Office of Immigrant Affairs will be present to offer language support for residents who may need assistance connecting with city departments.
